Starting WoW is an almost totally script driven show. Over three hours are spent every week putting the show together, sometimes more.

A script contains fully written out segments, bullet points and sometimes just one or two words which remind the host what to say.

On the 6th of April 2008, Starting WoW began with Season 1, Episode 1. It answered some very basic questions: "What is a patch?", "What is a plugin" and introduced some segments which would become well loved sections of Starting WoW.

While this episode gave out the call to submit your own content, this suggestion didn't catch on until later in the series, which left Cian with a lot of script writing work to do.
Season 2, Episode 1 was posted on the 31st of August 2008. Season two proved to be much more tongue-in-cheek, with segments on how to give up WoW, much more listener created material and the launch of the Starting WoW Social Network.
Season 3 Episode 1 debuted on the 22nd of June 2009. Season 3 focused on the next expansion in the WoW universe, Wrath of the Lich King. At the end of Season 3, the social network was disbanded due to the crying 13 year olds who had seemed to have overridden it.
